This custom-made series beautifully expresses traditional Japanese colors using colored lacquer. We have produced many rare shades of lacquer, including black, vermilion, and even green. This is a product born from Azuma's expertise with not only traditional paulownia chest construction methods, but also the entire process of applying lacquer and dry lacquer powder. This series excels in the mastery of both paulownia chests and lacquer.
This model was conceived as a piece of furniture that can serve as both a table and a chest, providing versatility of usage. This Gagaku is available for sale in various forms. It was also selected for the "KANSAI DESIGN potential MAP 2010" sponsored by the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry under the direct control of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for its use of unique techniques and its innovative design.
